Used, among other things, in the prophylaxis of iodine-deficiency goitre (see potassium iodide drops NRF 20.4.) and for outpatient nail removal in onychomycosis (potassium iodide 50% in the form of semi-solid preparations in which the active ingredient is either completely dissolved or suspended).
